Client Type:

Fortune 500 Oil Pipeline Company.

Project Type: Workflow Management, Business Intelligence, Integration
Program: Client was tracking all pipeline data in a group of spreadsheets. The client’s existing system was lacking data security, validity and tracking tools as well as requiring a great deal of manual maintenance. The client had a proprietary method for reporting on various components of the data. The client’s main concern against a new system was integration of existing data and the need to re-train all personnel and staff on new ways for process methodologies.
Solution: Softucraft implemented a pipeline tracking solution that migrated all the spreadsheet data into a central database. Security issues were resolved by providing full update access to a small group of staff members while the other users had read-only access only to certain areas of the solution that pertains to their positions in the company. The solution also provided newly added features such as automated data updates and tracking, value-added reports and enhanced user interface.
Results: Since solution implementation, all the security issues were resolved. Data updates and maintenance were simplified and automated a great deal by the ability to make the updates in a single central database instead of making identical updates in several spreadsheets. The new solution showed process and productivity improvements of 40% in 90 days. User training was minimal since most of existing proprietary methodologies were integrated into the new system. The client is preparing this solution for a nation-wide deployment.

Environment and Construction Company.
Project Type: Workflow Management, Supply Chain, Business Intelligence, Integration
Program: Client just launched a maintenance department to handle maintenance service calls for their customers. As a fresh start, client had a paper system for tracking their service calls and was dispatching all technicians manually. The paper system was slow, required many dispatch operators and lacked tracking tools.
Solution: Softucraft implemented a database solution for service call tracking and dispatching. The solution automated most of the data entry and dispatch processes on new service calls while tracking historic data for prior service calls. The solution provided periodic reports on service call status such as a daily reminder for all pending calls from previous days that needs follow-up. A periodic email report emailed to key company personnel for the status of the maintenance department as well as many additional proprietary tools. The solution also provided automated tools to provide certain customers with an electronic list on maintenance calls performed on customer's sites.
Results: The results were phenomenal. Response time and process efficiency improved by over 100%. The Solution has automated various aspects of service call handling.


Client Type:

Fortune 500 Oil Pipeline Company.
Project Type: Business Intelligence, Integration
Program: Client has a drafting department with a group of contractor draftsmen who were providing services on company projects. The draftsmen were billing the company for their services via periodic invoices. There was no set process for the draftsmen to follow in order to track the time spent on various projects. The client needed a billing system to issue the invoices for the draftsmen as well as being capable of tracking the progress of projects and provide job-cost analysis. The client also needed an automated way for other company employees to submit drafting requests to the drafting department.
Solution: Softucraft implemented a solution that incorporates an electronic time card that will allow the draftsmen to record time spent on various tasks on various projects. Also use that same time card data to issue invoices on the behalf of the draftsmen to the company. The solution also provided progress reports for pending projects. The solution incorporated an online submittal system that allows company employees to electronically submit drafting requests to the drafting department as well as being able to check the progress of existing or previously submitted projects.
Results: The drafting department enjoyed a process and efficiency improvements of over 40%. The company is now able to view job-costing and progress reports for pending and new projects.


Client Type:

Fortune 500 Oil Company.
Project Type: Workflow Management, Business Intelligence, Integration
Program: Client was developing a GIS-Enabled intranet website and needed that website to use tens of thousands of graphic files that are scattered on company network drives. Client needed to create an index database of the needed graphics files containing the full path, file name and other relevant information and was about to manually populate the index.
Solution: Softucraft implemented an automation solution that will periodically and automatically scan through the network drives and populate the database with new files that met the website criteria. The solution will also validate files previously indexed and ensures their existence as specified in the index as well as eliminating any duplicate entries.
Results: The solution saved the client thousands of dollars and weeks of man-hours in data entry and validation if it was to create the index as originally planned. And most importantly, the index was complete and ready in matter of hours instead of months.
